Master of Clinical Psychology
Gwenda Gilligan is a highly skilled clinical psychologist with many years’ counselling experience. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and an associate member of the College of Clinical Psychologists. Gwenda has substantial experience working with individuals, couples, and groups (such as families or business employees). She specialises in working with a range of clients including young people, adults and seniors.
Gwenda is committed to helping her clients clarify the changes they want to make in their lives. She then provides effective tools and strategies to successfully implement and maintain those changes. In addition to general counselling services, Gwenda also specialises in counselling clients experiencing a range of anxiety issues, such as social phobia and panic attacks. She deeply enjoys the collaborative process of counselling, and is dedicated to achieving successful outcomes for her clients.
Therapeutic techniques that Gwenda utilises include: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Attachment-Oriented Therapy. Gwenda’s specialist training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing enable her to work effectively with clients who have experienced trauma. She also offers psychological and cognitive assessments in addition to counselling.
