Guy Avisar is an exceptionally skilled psychologist with nearly 30 years’ counselling experience. He is also registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Guy has a substantial background working in private practice, in both Australia and Israel. He specialises in providing effective therapeutic support with a lasting impact on individual adults and couples.
Guy is engaging and insightful: he offers his clients unique perspectives on ways to overcome life’s challenges, and provides a wealth of tools to help his clients achieve their personal goals. Guy is adept at helping his clients tackle complex concerns using creative and practical pathways to personal growth. Enhancing relationships is one of Guy’s major areas of interest and expertise. From helping couples to strengthen their partnership, to supporting clients with workplace or family concerns, Guy gently guides his clients through positive changes with wisdom, warmth and profound skill.
Guy employs a client-centred and strengths-based approach to counselling. He understands his clients’ needs profoundly and tailor the treatment goals accordingly. Therapeutic techniques that Guy uses include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Positive Psychology, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
