Gigi Baker is a psychologist with extensive experience and training. She is passionate about providing effective support to individuals of all ages, couples and families. Gigi is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, Australian Counsellors Association and has general registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
With a unique set of training, skills and experiences, Gigi utilises effective evidence-based strategies to get the best possible mental health outcomes for her clients. Collaborating with her clients to explore and find new, effective approaches to help clients manage life’s challenges. She focuses on the client’s health, wellbeing and facilitates a process that ensures the client gains insight into the situation or the client’s personhood. All sessions take place in a private and professional room to meet the clients’ personal therapeutic needs.
She holds two Masters’ degrees, is completing her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and has extensive training with children and adolescents, individual counselling, family counselling and couple’s therapy. She incorporates many contemporary models of counselling, including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Suicide Prevention, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed Counselling, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
