Gigi is a psychologist with many years’ experience in private practice. She is a member of the Australian Psychology Society, Australian Counsellors Association and has general registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency. Prior to working as a psychologist, Gigi was a teacher and head teacher of Science and acted as a Deputy Principal. Gigi enjoys working with adults and children of all ages.
Gigi brings a unique set of training, skills and experiences to the counselling room, where she is passionate about getting the best possible mental health outcome for her clients. Gigi is committed to collaborating with her clients to explore and find new, effective and evidence-based strategies to manage life’s challenges through focusing on the client’s health and wellbeing and by facilitating a process whereby the client gains insight into the situation or the client’s personhood. Each session with Gigi takes place in a private and professional room and is tailored to meet the clients’ personal therapeutic needs.
Gigi holds two Masters’ degrees in counselling and has extensive training in children and adolescents, individual counselling and couple’s therapy. Gigi incorporates many contemporary models of counselling, including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Suicide Prevention, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed Counselling, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Gigi has previously supervised students and lectured in subjects including Introduction to Informed Trauma Counselling and Ethics at tertiary level in Australia.
