Emily is a highly experienced family therapist who has developed her insightful approach over a 20 year career in diverse settings. Emily is a member of the Australian Association of Family Therapy and works with adults, youth, children, couples, and families experiencing a variety of issues.
Emily is very passionate about creating impactful and long-lasting change in her clients and works with and empowering and challenging approach to presenting problems. Emily uses her empathetic and genuine nature to explore the underlying issues and triggers within people’s life patterns to allow clients to gain deeper understanding of and control over their lives and patterns of behaviour. Emily has achieved excellent outcomes with clients and clients report that her unique approach helps them to understand their issues in a new way that results in genuine change.
Emily uses a variety of approaches and therapeutic tools including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy and Family Therapy. Emily is insightful in her assessment of client’s issues and tailors her interventions to meet the unique needs of each client or family. Emily works collaboratively with her clients to ensure they are comfortable and feel supported and validated during the counselling process.
