Australian Counselling Association
Elaine is a professional counsellor and member of the Australian Counselling Association. She has experience assisting clients with a broad range of issues and has worked in the not-for-profit, education and private sectors.
Elaine is a warm, empathic counsellor who is passionate about helping her clients connect with their feelings and understand themselves better. This self-awareness allows self-compassion to grow and can enable clients to make choices that reflect their true desires, values and goals, beginning the process of positive growth and change. She listens deeply and offers a nurturing, non-judgemental space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions and unravel the causes of unrest in their life. Elaine guides her clients to become more aware of the ways in which past experiences are affecting their thoughts, feelings, behaviours and view of the world today and in every interaction they have. Elaine seeks to assist clients in the resolution of emotional blockages to their well-being and helps them cope with the challenges they face and find a clear way forward to achieve more fulfilling relationships and a more authentic life.
Elaine is naturally skilled in hearing her client’s unique perspective and understanding the ways in which their personal life situation and circumstances are affecting their well-being. She uses a humanistic, person-centred approach in her practice including Gestalt therapy and mindfulness techniques.
