Diane Clough (known to her clients as Di) is an insightful counsellor with 35 years’ experience working in diverse settings. She is a member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, Queensland Counselling Association and AASW. Di specialises in providing effective therapeutic support to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.
Di envisages counselling as an opportunity. By exploring an area of concern in life and seeking insight into underlying issues and impacts, Di’s clients create the conditions that make change possible. In this way, each counselling session can develop into a positive and uplifting experience. Di is committed to helping her clients find new ways to manage life’s challenges, with a focus on health and well-being.
As an accredited mental health practitioner, Di uses an integrated, client-centred approach, and is skilled at helping her clients address a broad range of issues. She incorporates several contemporary models of counselling into her practice, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Process-Oriented Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Motivational Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. Additionally, Di uses Expressive Therapies (e.g. sand tray, symbols and art therapy), particularly when working with children.
