Dawn is a highly skilled and experienced personal, relationship and career counsellor with over 30 years in the field of mental health. She has a Bachelor of Social Work Degree and is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and a clinical member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Dawn has an extensive background working with clients with psychological and physical disabilities in the vocational rehabilitation area. Since establishing her private practice 15 years ago she has specialised in mental health and wellbeing assisting clients with a very wide range of emotional issues and offers personal and career counselling to individuals and couples.
Dawn offers a unique blend of skills and experience to help you whether you are seeking more peace and tranquillity in your inner world, more satisfying relationships or assistance with career change, planning and development. Dawn provides a professional, caring and safe environment and will work with you to establish a trusting relationship and help you draw on your strengths and personal resources to achieve what you want for yourself. You will be the centre of the process every step of the way as Dawn will seek feedback from you on a regular basis to ensure that her approach is meeting your needs and you are completely satisfied with the counselling. She has a warm and compassionate style, but will challenge you where necessary to help you get the most out of therapy.
Drawing on a range of counselling strategies including Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, together with the most up to date approaches in couples counselling and career development practice, Dawn will assist you to make changes and choices which lead to emotional wellbeing, more satisfying relationships and greater meaning in the key areas of life and work.
