Daniel Jarvis is a highly skilled psychologist with over 15 years’ experience providing therapeutic counselling across a broad range of issues. He also holds an associate membership with the Australian Psychological Society, and has extensive experience working in both private practice and the government sector. Daniel specialises in working with children, adolescents and adults.
Daniel has a warm, engaging and very practical approach to counselling. He has a special affinity for working with clients with behavioural and mental health concerns, and is one of Life Supports’ senior child and adolescent specialists. Daniel also supports his adult clients to effectively navigate a range of issues with targeted therapeutic support, including stress and mood management, and strategies to improve relationship quality for both couples and family groups.
Daniel draws on a number of evidence-based counselling modalities in his practice, and tailors sessions to meet each client’s personal needs and circumstances. Techniques that Daniel uses include: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Functional Behaviour Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Interpersonal Therapeutic Intervention, Child/Parent Retraining, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and Play Therapy.
