Dale Hicks is a warm, caring, highly skilled counsellor with a rich background in mental health. He is a registered level 2 member of the Australian Counselling Association. Dale supports clients through not just hearing the client but listening, acknowledging and supporting them as they move through their counselling journey. He has worked with varied backgrounds, ages, groups and cultures within both the public and private sectors, affording him the insights and experience to help those he comes across with empathy, compassion and professionalism.
From his training and background, Dale’s genuine, empathic nature allows him to offer a deeper understanding and support which provides an effective, professional and grounding foundation from which to work through any number of individual and relationship concerns. This is provided in a space which is private and confidential, and where acknowledgement, independence, resilience and autonomy can be cultivated.
His passion and goals are to help individuals process, accept, develop and grow their awareness, resilience and strength around their mental health concerns, so each can live life on their best terms. Through understanding the client’s needs, Dale can tailor his approach to the specific situations of their circumstances. This is achieved by drawing from multiple modalities within a client-centred framework, utilising techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma-informed Therapy and Existential Psychotherapy.
