Cora Popa is a highly accomplished and experienced counsellor, supporting children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families across a wide range of presenting issues. Cora also holds a clinical membership with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
Cora deeply values and encourages authenticity to make sure that her clients feel seen, understood, and listened to as she believes this is critical in supporting her clients in achieving the outcomes they need. She is therefore skilled at helping clients move forwards and understand how to overcome the barriers that are getting in the way of their growth. This in turn assists clients to recognize their limiting beliefs and offers support in choosing a different method of thinking. In short, Cora is committed to help clients discover, explore, and use the clues that their own body and mind provide them to their best advantage and wellbeing.Â
Cora is a firm believer that once people gain awareness and commit to a choice, old habits can change, and healthy new ways of being can be learnt and achieved. Further to this, Cora also believes that emotions are what drives us and that if their power is correctly harnessed, the limits imposed on ourselves by our own minds will fade away. To this effect, Cora implements a range of therapeutic modalities in counselling sessions, including Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic, Solution Focused Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy. She is also oriented towards recovery, being fond of Mindfulness, Meditation, and helps organize routines and schedules that support physical and mental health.
