Christine Simpson is a highly skilled, insightful psychologist with over 10 years’ professional experience. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency. Christine has worked in private practice and the corporate and forensic sectors. She specialises in counselling adults, including couples and family groups.
Christine is dedicated to helping her clients reach their full potential. Whether the area of concern is career, health, one’s self or relationships, Christine assists her clients to gain insight about their personal needs and desired outcomes. She then provides practical strategies and tools for her clients to maximise their opportunities for positive growth and sustainable change in all areas of life. Christine also has a strong focus on teaching visualisation and relaxation techniques. This is an extremely effective way of empowering clients to explore their options, effectively manage stress, and expand possibilities in moving forward.
Christine works from a holistic, strengths-based counselling focus, and tailors sessions to meet each client’s personal needs and circumstances. Evidence-based therapeutic techniques that Christine uses include: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (especially helpful for clients experiencing anxiety or trauma), the Emotional Freedom Technique, Positive Psychology, and Emotion-Focused Couples Counselling.
