Christine has experience in a variety of areas having worked across multiple organisations and institutions. She has had roles both as clinician and team leader of both psychologists and social workers. This width of experience has meant she not only has expert clinical knowledge and skills but she has also learnt a good deal about herself. This self-reflection and learning has developed her capacity for understanding, warmth, and care for clients.
Christine continually grows her knowledge through professional development and peer supervision. Whatever the approach used Christine wants to enable her clients to grow their self- understanding and reflect on their life. She will help clients understand patterns of behaviour and choices that are not working for them. She will help a client link past events in their life to current difficulties. And help a client make better choices that creates happiness and fulfillment. Christine will also work to teach clients strategies to reduce difficulties. As each person is unique Christine will choose from a variety of therapeutic approaches. She draws from the following approaches.
Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Systems theory, Psychodynamic theory, Mindfulness approaches, developmental theories, Attachment theory, and Family therapy, Psycho Education.
