Christine Butler is a highly qualified counsellor with over 20 years of experience in the helping profession. She is a member of PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Association Australia), IAAP (International Association of Analytical Psychology), and ANZSJA (Australian and New Zealand Society of Jungian Analysts. Christine assists clients with a broad range of issues and offers mid to long term counselling to individual adolescents, adults and couples.
Christine is committed to helping clients make sense of difficult experiences, emotions and their inner world. She understands that most of us want to gain insight into the difficulties that limit our ability to find strength, meaning and peace. Feeling confused and stuck in entrenched patterns of behaviour, feeling empty, meaningless and exhausted can lead to significant psychological distress. By exploring distressing psychological experiences, identifying and clarifying areas of discomfort and stress, and seeking insight into underlying issues and their impact, conditions for meaningful change can emerge.
Christine is highly supportive to encourage self-reflection and provides a confidential and non-judgmental environment where thoughts, feelings and images can surface and be acknowledged. Her deep respect for unfolding psychological processes supports clients in discovering the meaning and significance within times of crisis or inner confusion. Christine's work is grounded in Jungian psychotherapy. At its heart, her psychodynamic approach views crisis as an opportunity for personal growth and transformation. She encourages clients to strengthen their personal and interpersonal capacities, overcome inner barriers and recognise their inherent resilience and inner strength.
