Casey Anderson is an experienced and passionate counsellor working with a range of clients from various backgrounds. She is a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). She holds a BA Social Science, Major in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Graduate Diploma Counselling, and is a training member of the Lacan Circle of Australia (LCA).

Casey takes a psychoanalytic approach to psychotherapy and counselling, and this involves careful listening to understand an individual’s inner life, particularly in the form of unconscious ideas and feelings. This way of working can be particularly helpful to locate the hidden cause of painful symptoms, bringing lasting relief from depression, anxiety, somatic disorders, and repetitive relationship issues. As an experienced psychotherapist, she has worked in a range of diverse settings with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. This level of experience has given Casey a deep understanding of what it means to be human, and formed her view that we are unique and complex beings with a desire for connection with self and others, even if this feels difficult.

In therapy Casey works in the here and now, since what happens in the therapy room is often a reflection of what happens in relationships outside the therapy room. While developing awareness and a compassionate view of oneself through Casey’s thoughtful and non-judgemental presence, individual’s can make lasting positive changes to the way they perceive themselves and relate to others.
