Carmen is a skilled counsellor whose area of special interest is supporting individuals and couples work through personal concerns. Carmen is proud to be a member of the Australian Counselling Association. Her greatest passion is providing counselling that empowers her clients to make a genuine and long-lasting positive change in their lives.
Carmen practices a person-centred approach to develop trusting respectful professional relationships in a secure safe and private environment for her clients. She understands that taking the first step to open up and sometimes can be difficult when you are unsure what to expect and what the result will be.
Carmen supports her clients to work through presenting concerns and explore their options and focuses on developing strategies and increase self-awareness. She supports her clients by offering practical guidance and effective strategies to address their problems. By understanding reactions, accepting them and learning how to modify them and make the necessary life changes to allow the development of clarity and growth to play out.
Carmen is committed to supporting her clients to connect with their innermost thoughts and feelings and discover a sense of self to improve psychological wellbeing. She believes each person has a unique response when experiencing emotional behaviour, based on their personal life experiences and are assessed on an individual basis and treatment to each person’s specific needs.
Carmen offers her sound knowledge and skills and various evidence-based treatments which may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy and Trauma-informed Therapy.
