Angela is a professional counsellor with many years’ experience. She is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association and has extensive experience working with clients in the community sector and private practice. Angela provides supports to adults and adolescents with varying presentations and concerns including relationships, anxiety, depression, grief and trauma.
Angela enjoys working with clients in a collaborative manner, exploring their values and strengths to support them in understanding their unique concerns. She believes that we all have a story to tell, and often reach out to others to help reshape our path. As such, she tailors her approach to suit each client’s individual needs and experience.
Angela enjoys helping people re-connect to the world around them through understanding themselves and building solid and caring relationships. She is passionate about connecting with and supporting others. She believes that when we genuinely meet someone where they are and accept them without judgement, a rapport and trust can be formed which helps to facilitate positive and constructive life changes.
Angela’s approach is client centred and considers the biological, psychological and social factors that may be contributing to a client’s concerns. She uses evidence-based therapies which include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Therapy. Angela places strong emphasis on building the therapeutic relationship, ensuring safety and mutual respect.
