Master of Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy
Advanced Clinical Training in Contemporary Gestalt Therapy
Andrew is an authentic and skilled counsellor who is extremely adept at supporting and guiding clients to explore and understand their experiences. He prides himself on his commitment to truly understand his clients and recognise their struggles, values and goals. Andrew is focused on helping each client access their own resources to transform unhelpful patterns, thoughts and behaviours, enhancing meaningful life experience and healthy relationships.
Andrew’s approach endeavours to welcome all aspects of a client into the process, encouraging an integrative and healing outcome. This approach is designed to help clients become more aware of the way they relate to others and their world. With increased awareness comes greater choice – the ability to choose to do things differently.
Drawing primarily on Gestalt approaches to counselling, Andrew’s practice is also informed by Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Andrew’s years of experience include working in a number of settings, and he finds his work with clients in individual and couples counselling very rewarding. He is a member of the Australian Counselling Association and works with adolescents, adults and couples.
