Amira Azab is an accomplished and engaging counsellor with 10 years’ experience. She is an active member of the AASW and has a substantial background working within the public and private sectors. In addition to her counselling practice, Amira provides supervision to other counsellors in clinical practice. Amira specialises in providing effective therapeutic support to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.
Amira is a warm and empathic counsellor who is committed to helping her clients develop effective strategies to address their concerns. She envisages counselling as an opportunity for clients to gain self- confidence and empowerment through the non-judgemental and relaxed counselling space. Amira is passionate about helping clients to live their lives to the full. By exploring an area of concern in life and seeking insight into underlying issues and impacts, Amira’s clients create the conditions that make change possible. In this way, each counselling session can develop into a positive and uplifting experience. Amira is committed to helping her clients find innovative ways to manage life’s challenges, with a focus on health and wellbeing.
Each session with Amira is tailored to meet the clients’ personal counselling needs and goals. Amira incorporates many contemporary models of counselling into her practice, including: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Process-Oriented Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. In addition, Amira helps her clients build skills to gain control over their lives.
