Amelia Padgett is a counsellor with many years’ experience in the mental health field and is an active member of the Australian Counselling Association. Amelia has worked in both the public and private sector, in her own small businesses and not-for-profit organisations. She advocates personally and professionally to enhance community understanding in discussions around mental health. Amelia provides support to individuals, couples, families and organisations.

Amelia is known for her warmth, empathy and compassion, and she values safety and kindness. Her counselling style is genuine, grounded, practical and curious. She empowers clients to bring awareness and deeper understanding to complex issues, while assisting them to develop skills and strategies to build resilience, positive growth and change.

Amelia believes that each person is their own expert, and recognises no two people will ever be the same. By tailoring holistic, educational, evidence based approaches to each client, she collaborates with them to build self esteem, helps them become more independent, gain clarity in relationships, create and achieve goals and advocate for themselves.

Amelia utilises attachment theory to underpin her practice, integrating elements of mindfulness, cognitive behavioural and solution focused therapies. She is particularly excited about the science of changing the brain, and maintains optimism that there are no problems without solutions.
