Amanda Morrison is a highly experienced and skilled counsellor with over 20 years’ counselling experience. Amanda works with adolescents and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds with a range of psychological and wellbeing challenges. In addition to her counselling practice, Amanda also provides supervision to other counsellors.
Amanda provides a space for clients to work through difficult issues. She focuses on their strengths and what’s important to them whilst helping the client become aware of the blocks that keep them stuck from reaching their goals. She collaborates with clients to develop effective strategies for long term positive change in their lives. Amanda is empathetic, engaging, and practical in her style of counselling and encourages her clients on their journey to increase their capacity and choices in their lives.
Amanda uses a client-centred approach and utilizes a range of therapeutic techniques into her practice to meet individual therapeutic needs. She draws on strength and evidence-based therapies to create positive change. These modalities include Mindfulness and other behaviour-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Schema therapies. Amanda will work with clients on the therapeutic techniques that best suit them and that empower them for change.
