Alex Wittmann is an accomplished counsellor who combines modern therapeutic knowledge with broad life experiences for a grounded and perceptive approach to counselling. He is a member of the Australian Counselling Association. Alex works in a range of settings including adult education, group work, post-suicide support and private practice, and has done so for many years. Alex specialises in counselling adolescents and adults on a range of issues.
Alex has a collaborative approach that helps his clients develop self-awareness and practical skills to address their immediate concerns and future goals. He assists his clients to address both root causes and symptoms of problems: for instance, exploring the deeper personal issues contributing to relationship conflict, whilst developing practical communication skills and authentic intimacy. Alex’s focus on organic transformation uses each client’s innate capacity for learning, growth and healing to bring about real and lasting change. In addition to resolving immediate concerns, Alex also targets personal flourishing and the ongoing growth of relationships – two key ingredients for happiness and fulfilment.
Alex has an integrated approach to counselling, and tailors sessions to meet each client’s unique characteristics, strengths, resources and needs. Therapeutic techniques that Alex uses include: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Psycho-Education.
