Alex Mcloughlin is an engaging and accomplished counsellor with many years of experience. He is a member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia. Alex has a substantial background working in the community health and clinical sectors. Alex provides specialist therapeutic support to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples.
Alex is creative, curious and respectful, fostering an environment that allows a client to explore the scope and subtlety of mental wellbeing. With a focus on trust, Alex creates partnerships with clients which in turn allow Alex and his clients to walk together while finding answers. Alex’s approach walks alongside the client and holds a deep respect for the words, thoughts and feelings that the client brings. Alex offers a nonjudgmental, solution focused service, which uses trust and the partnership between client and counsellor to inspire positive change.
Each client is different, and so when working with Alex, the therapeutic models may differ depending on need or the effectiveness of a given approach. Alex draws on Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Art Therapy and Mindfulness among many other techniques.
