Alana Tassie is an empathic and insightful counsellor with over 10 years’ professional counselling experience. In addition to her private practice, Alana has a substantial background working in hospital, community and not-for-profit health sectors. She is also a member of the AASW. Alana specialises in working with adolescents, adults, couples and families.

Alana assists her clients to generate the change they desire within themselves and their relationships. She is warm, attentive and transparent. Alana supports her clients to manage their worries and distress more effectively, while enhancing their existing strengths and skills. She facilitates self-reflection and self-expression in a highly supportive environment, ensuring that each session generates value and growth. Alana encourages clients to feel in control of the counselling pace and outcomes, as this enables sustainable results.

Alana has a skilful ability to adapt her approach to best meet her client’s needs, progress and counselling goals. She combines four core relational counselling frameworks within her practice: Attachment Theory, Systemic Family Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Alana also has training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy and Parenting Strategies. Counselling with Alana is an opportunity to create and maintain meaningful change.
